Using BingoDisk
Using your own domains
All BingoDisk accounts come with their own domain for free (in the form of yourlogin.bingodisk.com) but you can also point the DNS for any other domain you own to BingoDisk's servers as an alias. Here's some examples:
- disk.mycompany.com
- bingo.mycooldomain.com
- files.mywebsite.com
It's important to note that BingoDisk doesn't manage the DNS for your domains, so to use your own domains, you'll need to do two things:
1. Point your DNS records to BingoDisk's server
The DNS (Domain Name Server) records for your domain are usually maintained by the company that hosts your website, but it's also common to use a 3rd party DNS provider or even the same company that you registered the domain with. Find out who manages the DNS for your domain, and contact them for help.
You need to point a particular subdomain (eg disk.mycompany.com) to your BingoDisk account's primary domain (yourlogin.bingodisk.com) using a CNAME record.
Changes to DNS records can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days to propagate over the internet and take effect, depending on many factors.
2. Add the domain to your BingoDisk account
You also need to add the domain to your BingoDisk account via the Custom Domains page in your Bingo Account Control Panel.
Once DNS has propagated, you'll be able to access your BingoDisk account using both the standard BingoDisk domain and the custom domains(s) you've added to the account.
